Hansen goes live in Anchorage

The city of Anchorage, Alaska, has deployed software by Rancho Cordova firm Hansen Information Technologies to more easily track code enforcement-related complaints.

Citizens can now file and track code enforcement complaints using the system. And code enforcement officers can track, manage and resolve violations of the city's codes, ordinances and rules from the field using a wireless connection. The system enables city employees to take care of complaints faster, track each violation against a specific address, and maintain a history across different agencies, according to the company.

Prior to installing the software, the city's agencies responsible for code enforcement used a mix of incompatible systems and different processes to deal with code violations, which often resulted in uneven enforcement and delays, according to Hansen.

Hansen provides software applications for the public sector, employs 330 people and has offices in Auckland, London, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Toronto.
