RANCHO CORDOVA, California - January 3,
2006 - Hansen Information Technologies
(Hansen®)
today announced that the Municipality of Anchorage
has selected its Web-based product, Hansen 8, to
provide a state-of-the-art code enforcement solution.
The Hansen 8 Code Enforcement solution will manage,
track, and enhance delivery of code compliance
activities within the City. The chosen system will
also be used to manage the intake, routing, tracking,
documenting, and resolution of citizen service
requests.
Currently, the municipality uses multiple systems
and manual processes that often require duplicate
data entry. There is no central location for checking
complaint status. Some types of complaints may be
split between departments, so depending on the complaint,
citizens may have to call different departments in
order to resolve their problem. "We are looking
forward to the single-database solution provided
by Hansen," says Fred Carpenter, Anchorage's
Project Director for the Hansen system implementation.
The award of this contract is a major milestone
in transforming how code enforcement activity is
managed between departments. With Hansen's Web interface,
citizens will be able to submit and track their code
violations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
"The new Hansen system is the next step in
taking the municipality to the cutting-edge of citizen
services," says Planning Director, Tom Nelson. "By
providing municipal staff with this new technology,
we can deliver more accurate, timely and cost-effective
services to our citizens."
Using Hansen's geographic information tools, the
municipality will be able to incorporate its extensive
geographic database into Hansen's system to easily
map and display code violations. These violations
can then be viewed by citizens using the internet.
"One of the most exciting capabilities of the
new system is that it will provide an interface for
electronic field reporting devices, thus allowing
code enforcement officers to enter data while at
the site, using mobile devices," says Keith
Ziolkowski, Municipality of Anchorage Project Manager
for the Hansen implementation.
Implementation of the Hansen 8 system is scheduled
to be completed and operational in 2006.
