"There are significant synergies between Hansen and SAP," said Steve Peck, president SAP Public Services. "I look forward to working with Hansen to drive solutions that will better serve the strategic needs of transportation agencies."
"After working with several SAP government customers, Hansen's intention to enter into a working relationship with SAP brings together two industry leaders to provide a mechanism for transportation agencies to move from highly customized point applications, to integrated, off-the-shelf solutions," said Chuck Hansen, Chairman and CEO of Hansen. "These solutions are supportable, upgradeable and utilize the latest technology."
The government transportation industry, including State DOT's, Transportation Authorities, City and County Transportation and Public Works Departments, and Municipal Planning Organizations, are facing new challenges as their focus changes from new road construction to the maintenance and improvement of existing infrastructure. In 2003, eighty percent of the available Federal transportation funding, representing over $24 billion, was applied to mobility and productivity programs designed to improve the condition and usability of our nation's roadways.
