SACRAMENTO, CA, June 13, 2004 - Hansen Information Technologies (Hansen®) today announced a contract to provide their web services XML-based government software solution, Hansen 8, to the Oldham County, Kentucky Building Department. The agreement includes Hansen 8 for Land Management, including applications for commercial permits, customer service, code enforcement, planning and zoning.

The Hansen implementation is Oldham County’s initial step in using technology to create greater efficiencies and lower operating expenses County-wide. The Hansen application will enable County building inspectors to electronically track all activities currently performed manually. The per-site cost savings and availability of historical documentation will enable the county to effectively handle more inspections in less time. Eventually the Hansen solution will be expanded to allow contractors to apply, pay appropriate fees and track a permit on the County’s web page.

“Oldham County is a progressive and technically advanced County,” said Mary Ellen Kinser, Oldham County Judge-Executive. “Knowing Hansen’s product is built entirely on the Microsoft .NET platform and after seeing its functionality and integration capabilities at Hansen’s Cincinnati Roadshow, there was no question that Hansen 8 was the solution that will continue to meet the County’s business needs as it continues to evolve into the future.”

“Oldham County’s selection of Hansen 8 proves the scalability of the Hansen solution—from small government agencies to large metropolitan agencies serving millions,” said Chuck Hansen, Chairman and CEO. “What impressed me most about Oldham County was the shared goal of ‘streamlining the business of government.’ No one would admit it, but I think it has become their mantra. Judge-Executive Kinser, made it clear from the start that her constituents did not want government bureaucracy, or its IT solutions, getting in the way of doing their business. Offering a 100% server-based solution will let Oldham County focus on serving their citizens and business community, instead of supporting outdated client-side applications.”

Prior to the selection of Hansen, the County Building Department experienced strong demand with the County’s rapid population growth (currently at approximately 46,172). Property developers saw Oldham County as a very attractive area for residential growth for single family upscale housing. The County consulted with various departments at Louisville MSD, a Hansen client since 2001, to determine what applications would be appropriate for them. Following their attendance at the Hansen Roadshow, the decision was made to begin the process of implementing Hansen 8 for permitting. Oldham County also uses Microsoft Business Solutions’ Great Plains for their accounting and financial reporting.

The Hansen implementation is scheduled to go live by August 2004.
