RANCHO CORDOVA, California - July 1, 2005 – Hansen Information Technologies (Hansen®) today announced that Riverside County, California, Department of Building & Safety, Code Enforcement Division, successfully went live with implementing the Hansen 8 100% XML Code Enforcement software solution.

Working within the Riverside County Transportation & Land Management Agency (TLMA), the Department of Building & Safety, Code Enforcement Division is tasked with maintaining code enforcement that is responsive to public needs and concerns over health and safety in areas of Riverside County. The Division selected and implemented Hansen 8 to enhance their ability to manage the process of providing uniform, effective, and timely code enforcement services.

“We are delighted to be a part of Riverside County, Code Enforcement Division’s successful go-live of Hansen 8,” said Chuck Hansen, Chairman and CEO. “We look forward to seeing the Division further enhance interactions with constituents through our next generation XML solution.”

“The Hansen 8 architecture is flexible enough to allow any process that can be documented to be represented within their application,” said David Hexem, Information Technology Officer, Riverside County. “My measurement of the success of a new application is how the end users take to the system. Staff members told me personally that this implementation will help them do their jobs quicker and more efficiently. We all look forward to continuing our long-term partnership with the Hansen organization, and are excited to move forward with the challenges and opportunities in Phase 2 of our project (Building & Safety, Planning, Transportation, etc).”

“Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Hansen 8 is helping Riverside County Code Enforcement streamline and automate most of our code enforcement functions which will bring continuity among all the offices of the Division,” commented Tracey Towner, Supervising Code Enforcement Officer. “Hansen 8 is a wonderful tool and asset to our team—processing times will be cut in half or more.”

Nearly one million parcel records, 1.9 million contacts, 599,000 addresses and 16 code enforcement processes were converted into the Hansen 8 data structure from Riverside County’s legacy system. In addition, over 35,000 code enforcement cases were converted as well. Division staff members will now be able to keep all of their confidential information (narratives, photos, notices, postings, etc.) in one secure database.

Hansen 8 is a 100% server-side, ZERO client-side software solution that eliminates the need to load, maintain, or support application code on a remote PC, and represents a 100% Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) solution that is a key standard in providing HTTP/XML-Based remote procedure calls for XML Web Services. Hansen 8 does not require any third-party plug-ins, adaptors, or message brokers, commonly required in Java and J2EE solutions.

The division is responsible for enforcing over 15 county ordinances relating to public nuisances, zoning violations, and other issues relevant to the needs of the unincorporated communities of Riverside County.
