Town of Southampton, New York Awards Contract for Hansen’s Business Intelligence Suite, Including Comprehensive Annual Financial Reporting (CAFR) Solution

RANCHO CORDOVA, California, August 12, 2005 – Hansen Information Technologies (Hansen®) today announced the Town of Southampton, New York, has awarded a contract to deploy Hansen’s Business Intelligence Suite (HBIS) that also includes an advanced Comprehensive Annual Financial Reporting (CAFR) solution called CAFR Builder™. Hansen’s HBIS and CAFR solutions will help the Town’s Office of the Comptroller enhance budgeting processes and simplify CAFR preparation.

Hansen’s Financial Business Unit will work with Southampton and New York City-based, Interdyn AKA, a Microsoft Business Solution (MBS) and Great Plains Partner, to implement the financial reporting solutions. Interdyn AKA is serving as Southampton’s customer-side project manager.

Hansen’s Business Intelligence Suite is an open system that consists of three (3) reporting modules that can connect to a variety of third-party accounting systems to provide important financial, operational, and managerial trends and reporting compliance needs. Key HBIS modules include:

  • Advanced Financial Analyzer™ – Presents deep financial information for use by governmental accountants and CPAs, drill down capabilities to detail transactions from source systems

  • Budget and Performance Analyzer™ – Presents budget planning, formulation, execution, and related program performance information in recognized industry best practice formats

  • CAFR Builder™ – Gathers financial data from traditional accounting sources to build required statements, schedules, charts and graphs in compliance with GASB 34 requirements. Also provides a detailed audit trail for all post-closing adjusting entries. Replaces the common practice of using spreadsheets and manual reporting processes to build on-the-fly financial reports, including:

-Management Discussion and Analysis
-Basic Financial Statements
-Government-wide Financial Statements
-Fund Financial Statements
-Quantitative Schedules in the Notes section
-Required Supplemental Information Statements and Schedules
-Combining Financial Statements and Schedules, and
-Statistical Section components
