RANCHO CORDOVA, CA—August 24, 2006—Hansen Information Technologies (Hansen®) today announced its selection by San Antonio Water System (SAWS) to provide a comprehensive Enterprise Resource Software System (ERSS) as part of a ten-year, $21.1 million contract. As the prime contractor and systems integrator for the project, Hansen will lead a team of public sector experts that include Lawson, Selectron, Hewlett-Packard, and Oracle Corporation. Project implementation will span 28 months, and Blue Heron Consulting will provide quality assurance and oversight assistance throughout this period.
"Like any high-performance organization, SAWS is committed to providing outstanding customer service," said SAWS CEO David Chardavoyne. "This information system project will help move us to a new level of operational efficiency. And that can only mean better service and better value for our customers. Now that we’ve signed the contract, we're ready to dig in and get down to the real work—work that will positively impact every area of our organization and the quality of service we provide."
The Hansen solution will replace a number of legacy applications at SAWS. CIS Billing was the main driver for the ERSS project, but the new solution will help automate SAWS’ business processes across the organization.
"The solution we put together for SAWS is based on our latest Microsoft .NET technology. SAWS identified their need to procure a complete ERSS solution with CIS Billing as the main focal point to better serve their customers," said Carlos Thomas, Managing Director, Hansen CIS & Tax Billing. "The Hansen solution will allow SAWS to start the process with the developer, create the assets and billing accounts, manage the billing process, and pass financial information to the G/L at the end of the day. It's effective, efficient, and completely scalable."
