Rancho Cordova, CA -- September 13, 2006 -- Hansen Information Technologies (Hansen®), a leading provider of software applications for the public sector market, today announced the acquisition of Australia's leading Advanced Asset Management product--a product designed in accordance with the 2006 Edition of the International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM). The new module will expand Hansen's leading enterprise asset management suite to provide real-time infrastructure decision support, predictive modeling, and optimized renewal analysis for long-range capital planning of public sector assets.
Along with this significant product acquisition, Hansen also announced the promotion of Peter Pagonis as Director of Hansen's Asset Business Unit. Prior to his new position, Peter was Operations Manager for Hansen International Australasia, Pty Ltd, where he was responsible for over 40 asset management projects, including Melbourne Water Corporation, Yarra Valley Water, City of Adelaide, City of Geelong, Westrail, and City of Perth. Peter also contributed to the design and development of Hansen's Fixed Asset Accounting module, capable of managing financial valuation and depreciation in accordance with generally accepted government accounting standards.
Hansen's new Advanced Asset management product was acquired from Hansen Technologies Limited (not affiliated with Hansen Information Technologies), a Melbourne, Australia-based publicly traded company.
"The addition of Advanced Asset Management capabilities to our Asset suite provides unparalleled advantages to Hansen users," said Pagonis. "Having helped a number of leading governments and utilities in Australia and New Zealand implement Hansen Asset solutions, I know firsthand how this new module will enable organizations to take a more sophisticated, strategic view of their infrastructure investment initiatives in order to optimize expenditures on asset replacement and maintenance and bottom-line benefits."
Hansen's new Advanced Asset Management module is immediately available and will be showcased at Hansen's 20th Annual International User Group Conference at the Resort at Squaw Creek, October 8-12, 2006. Hansen will demonstrate key features of the new module that will allow leading public sector and utility customers to:
Another key feature of Hansen’s new Advanced Asset Management module is its standardization and adoption of the 2006 International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM), as developed by the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia (IPWEA) and INGENIUM, the Association of Local Government Engineering New Zealand Incorporated. Previously known as the Institute of Municipal Engineering Australia (IMEA), the IPWEA is now expanding its traditional local government engineering focus to public works and covering all levels of government and private practice. The IPWEA has been internationally accepted as the next-generation standard of enterprise asset management, and already has been adopted by a number of Hansen’s leading asset users in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Canada. INGENIUM is the organization that represents all those people who manage, maintain, and operate public infrastructure in New Zealand. INGENIUM provides technology transfer opportunities for its members through branch meetings, seminars, and an annual conference.
The IIMM is widely regarded as the new foundation for asset management standards and policies as promoted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in their Advanced Asset Management training curriculum. Other leading international organizations endorsing the IIMM include:
