City of Simi Valley Council Approves Contract for Hansen’s
Work Order Maintenance System
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SACRAMENTO, Calif., October 11, 2004 - Hansen Information Technologies (Hansen®) today announced that the Waterworks and Sanitation Divisions of the City of Simi Valley, CA have purchased an integrated work order maintenance system that will give the two divisions coordinated workflow, timely maintenance and better customer service to the over 119,000 City residents. The new Hansen v7.x system includes modules for inventory control, sewer, water and customer service.
The Waterworks District delivers over 23,000 acre-feet annually to almost 23,000 service connections. In addition to 29 storage facilities, such as water tanks, the District also has 2,600 fire hydrants and 20 pump stations in its system. Waterworks District No. 8’s Annual Fund Budget is $21 M for FY 2004-2005.
The Sanitation Division is responsible for operating sewer line maintenance and the sewage collection system. This plant is the only facility to treat wastewater in the City, and as such, the plant must stay current with changing technologies in a growing field while its capacities must be sufficient to handle current and future growth in the City. The Water Treatment Plant is currently rated at 12.5 million gallons per day, with peak flows up to 18 million gallons. The Sanitation Division’s Annual Budget was $15.5 M for FY 2004-2005.
“Not only is Hansen providing technology that will help Simi Valley meet the GASB 34 accounting standards, but the technology should meet the City’s growth demands well into the future,” said Chuck Hansen, President and Chief Executive Officer, Hansen.
